Anti-Soiling & Surface Protection Coatings

Chemitek Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 and D-Solar Defendor are coatings you apply during a normal clean. They reduce how strongly dust sticks to the glass, so panels stay cleaner for longer and the next clean is faster.

Keep Panels Cleaner for Longer

Fine dust clings to module glass through static charge and moisture. Chemitek's anti-soiling coatings treat that cause: they are dosed into the cleaning water and applied in the same pass as a normal wash, leaving a thin protective layer on the glass.

Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 (ASA 2.0) neutralises the static charge that pulls fine dust onto the glass. D-Solar Defendor (DSD) is a hydrophobic coating that makes water bead and run off. Chemitek reports up to 5% more energy than water-only cleaning, about 50% less cleaning water, and at least a year of protection.

Key Benefits

  • Applied during a normal clean: no separate coating visit
  • New dust lands loosely and comes off more easily at the next clean
  • Up to 5% more energy than water-only cleaning (Chemitek)
  • About 50% less cleaning water (Chemitek)
  • At least 12 months of protection (Chemitek)
  • ASA 2.0 carries 17 module-maker letters of conformity

How to Use (Chemitek Datasheets)

  • ASA 2.0: dilute 1 kg in 1,000 L of cleaning water, then clean the panels as normal
  • DSD: dilute 1 kg in 1,000 L of soft water (reverse osmosis, distilled, or treated with Water Softening Agent)
  • Equipment: rotary brushes, robots or tractor-mounted brushes
  • First application: the panels must come out fully clean so the coating bonds to bare glass; with a tractor brush, slow down until all soiling is removed
  • Manual brushing: we usually recommend Solar Wash Protect instead

Field Evidence

  • Morocco, Green Energy Park (peer-reviewed, Heliyon 2023): over nine months, Chemitek products gave cumulative gains over water-only cleaning of 3.2% (SWP), 2.0% (DSD) and 1.9% (IGP)
  • Israel, Chemitek case study: modules protected with ASA after cement removal were still clean two weeks later, while unprotected modules had re-soiled
