Which Chemitek product does your plant need?

Four quick questions: what’s on the glass, where the plant is, how you clean and what help you want. You get a plan with the right products and dilutions for your method, or an engineer when the answer needs one.

1 of 4What’s on your glass?

Pick up to three. Washed it and it’s still there? Then it has bonded to the glass: that’s contamination.

The rules, in one table

What’s on the glass, and what removes it

The advisor works from this table. Where more than one thing is on the glass, or the source or the water is unknown, it sends you to an engineer first.

Common questions

Ask one of our engineers. Tell us about your plant and we’ll answer it properly.

Send your question

Which Chemitek product do I need for solar panels?

Start from what’s on the glass. Everyday dust and droppings: Solar Wash Protect if you clean by hand, Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 if a robot or tractor cleans. Cured cement or hard-water stains: Inorganic Removal Agent, then protect the glass. Rust-coloured stains: Metal Oxides Removal Agent. Lichen and moss: Lichen Removal Agent. Hard cleaning water: Water Softening Agent. Not sure? Use the advisor above, or send us a photo.

Do I need both Solar Wash Protect and Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0?

No. For everyday soiling it’s one or the other, depending on how you clean. Chemitek advises against applying Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 with a manual brush, so hand crews use Solar Wash Protect, which cleans and leaves an antistatic layer in one pass. Robot, rotary-brush and tractor cleaning uses Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 in the wash water.

Why does the advisor sometimes send me to an engineer?

When the answer depends on what we’d see on site: more than one bonded deposit, rust from an unknown source, water nobody has tested, or a coating on an arid inland site, where a Northern Cape trial found a hydrophobic coating made modules dirtier. A test clean and a water test settle it quickly.

Can I buy the products without a service contract?

Yes. Crews that only need the products can buy them from us on their own, with the datasheets and dilution advice for their water.
